The Frustration of Algorithms!

I use FaceBook and Instagram quite a bit. It’s fast and easy, and over the years I have had many people tell me they really enjoy my posts. Honestly, I have thought of quitting social media several times, but it seems like every time I start thinking about it, someone tells me how much they enjoy getting a glimpse into what we do here.

Recently, FaceBook and Instagram both have started getting very selective about what they will let people see. They have computerized algorithms that scan posts and restrict access if they don’t think people will like the content. Therefore if I post about church, God, Alaska, and anything else they don’t think will have a broad appeal they severely restrict access to who can see the posts. I have had this happen NUMEROUS times and it is very frustration. But, I can’t really complain as the service is free. My solution? This blog page on my own website. Because I am already paying for my website, one more page on the site is essentially free. So, I will continue to you FaceBook and Instagram, but you will probably start finding more content here.
